Thomas Robbins was born about 1695 in Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He may have been the son of Robert Robbins and Mary Maxwell.

Thomas married Lydia Adams on August 6, 1713 in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Lydia was the daughter of Jonathan Adams and Leah Gould.
